Introduction
Kudler Fine Foods (KFF) is an upscale epicurean grocery store that has four locations in the San Diego metropolitan; La Jolla, Del fault, and Encinitas. Frustrated in searching for the finest ingredients and products for the stores, founder Kathy Kudler, hopes to be the main supplier in judicious bakery and pastries, fresh produce, fresh meat and seafood, condiments and packaged foods, and cheeses and specialty dairy products for customers (University of Phoenix, 2007). KFF has the obligations to its employees to stick around competitive in the field and will strive to abide a friendly and attentive way to serve their customers. In the next couple paragraphs, I will create a problem statement that will focus on the managements efforts to contract the issues and achieve the organizations goals, along with creating an end vision describing where Kudler could be if the hazard is realized by management.
Expansion of business
After two years of success with Kudler Fine Foods in La Jolla California, Kathy Kudler decided to expand her business to other locations such as in Del Mar, Encinitas, and a newer location in Carlsbad, California. However, based on the sales and profitability of the newer locations, the stores were not performing as well as the main store in La Jolla.
Presently, the Del Mar branch is not performing well compared to its financial targets and principally the small population in the area. With the new expansion in Carlsbad, Kathy believes it will be a success because of the large population and the propinquity to the Del Mar location. It seems as if Kathy and management had gone forrad with the expansion without doing a proper analysis of the need of products and function in the area.
