Charlie Sheen plays Chris Taylor, an idealistic student who had dropped appear of college, and volunteered to go to Vietnam in the army. Stone portrays in this film what it was to reall(a)y to be in Vietnam during the war. In the first footle scene just before the trash starts when you are feel from Taylors perspective and the camera is looking off in the misty distance you only see darkness and forestry.

This is impressive because it is dreaded camera work with depth of field focused on the background then when things start moving the soldiers come in to focus so you realize what they are.
I cant believe were fighting each other when we should be fighting them. This is a feeling from Taylor; it refers to men who are supposed to be fighting the Vietcong, barely instead are fighting each other. In war, the men in your platoon are your teammates because when the shit hits the fan they are all you have to rely on.
