Sometimes, however, rose muscovite grows over lepidolite, which perhaps shows that muscovite is a later tapral than lepidolite (Deer and Zusman, 1962, p. 90).

The seeming of lepidolite can range from a pale lilac (its usual color), to a colorless rock, to a pale yellow or grey. It is transparent or translucent.
