EXPERIMENT 1DENSITY

OBJECTIVES:
1. To observe the coitus densities of some common liquids and solids
2. To determine the density of liquid, a caoutchouc stopper, and unknown solid object.

INTRODUCTION: immersion is a somatic proportion of liquids, gases, and solids. slow-wittedness of a ticker is a trait physical property of that substance. Physical property is a property that does not change the chemical composition of a substance. Density is defined as the press per unit tawdriness of the substance. Density is an intensive property which is independent of the quantity of the real deliberate as it is a ratio of the mass of a substance to its saturation.

Different methods can be used to measure density. atomic pile of the object is measured using a sensitive balance. If the material is a liquid, then the mass of the liquid is determined by an indirect method called as weighing by difference. The mass of the liquid is found by subtracting the first mass from the secondment mass.

The batch of an irregular object cannot be found directly. However, its volume can be found indirectly from the amount of peeing it displaces. Measurement of volume is based on Archimedess principle. States that the volume of the liquid displaced equals the volume of the solid which is immersed in the same liquid. The volume of the object will be measured using a receive cylinder.



The initial volume of water in the graduated cylinder is noted. Then the object is carefully introduced into the cylinder and the closing volume reading is recorded.
