It has been 300 years since the Empire of Man was destroyed, since this planet was rendered barren. I am the exactly survivor. No one else remains. The accounting of the go by…is one that I have not told anyone else. How can I? No one else remains to be told. And yet, the tale mustiness be told, it must be passed on, for what else is a tales purpose, but to exist? Heh. Humans and stories are the same in that aspect. Both exist only to survive. And both survive only to live on. And when survival becomes impossible, both human and stories gain a new purpose: to pass themselves on. But when it comes to that, humans are at a disadvantage. They can only pass their look on. A story is not bound by those limitations, for it uses humans to pass its entirety on. Although, I suppose that stories are change slightly with each retelling. But it is of no matter now. This story has failed its purpose; it shall die with me upon this barren planet, only if and bereft. The fall should not have happened. The ruling body should have do itn. But what would they know of the happenings of their empire? Those who sat in their expensive furniture in their exquisitely carved homes, languishing, in the luxuries that only wealth and exponent can bring.

The councils, the boards, set of ten who made the laws and oversaw every undivided procedure in the city. All had such power and fellowship and yet none cared, choosing only to enjoy themselves while their enormous, inherited Empire collapsed from within. Too big to fail, they joked. Too brawny to die. How wrong they were. In the few years after the destruction, I spoke with some historians. I was not alone back then. There were many who had survived. But over time, I remained as the only one. The historians told me that history repeats itself. They spoke of a great man who once lived upon this same planet that I strait upon now.
